Waterside Sunroom

With views to North Marin hills over a lagoon, my client was perplexed by the limited exposure of their living spaces to the best part of their home. This addition seeks to solve that by opening up the house to a new everyday sunroom right where views, light and fresh breezes can stream in. A shady den, cut off from light by a massive porch canopy wasn’t even close. A new studio workspace replaces the den, but now opened up to the sunroom, it benefits from borrowed light and air.

Wide benches in the new sunroom provide multiple spots for lounging, following the sun through the day. At night, Perimeter cove lighting supplemented by sconces will have the sunroom glow peacefully.
